If you're familiar with "image macros" or "lolcats", then you need no introduction. For those of you who don't know, free education:

Got it? So LOLAthletes are an extension of the image macro meme, specific to athletes. C'mon, how many times have you seen some sporting moment frozen in a picture that just begged to be humorously captioned? I've been captioning sports pictures for years on bulletin boards and MySpace, etc, but it wasn't until I came across a certain popular Lolcat site that I realized that quite a few of my fellow internet dwellers enjoyed captioning photos too.

But making Lolcats is, well let's face it, not something guys are interested in. But captioning sports photos? Aye, that we can go for. So I built this site for my friends and I to share our LOLAthlete creations, and hopefully you and your friends will enjoy sharing your LOLAthletes with us too.
